The Relay for Life event last weekend was such a great way to kick off our trip.
We were excited to be a part of this amazing event with all of what we went through with Dean’s cancer, but also to honor all those we know who have fought cancer and those we have lost to cancer as well.
We started our own team, “Deano Strong” to raise funds.
Months after we started fundraising my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer and passed away before the event. This made it an even more important day for us all. 💜
It was a beautiful event with lots for kids to do, a butterfly release, live performances, and a luminaria ceremony at the end.
We made bracelets to sell to raise more funds and we even rallied last minute to sell hotdogs to raise even more! Big thank you to @twakefield7 @bruceringuette @pdssouthflorida for doing that too!! and @ringuetteremodeling being a track sponsor!!
Our team ended up ranked #4 out of 70 teams!!! Not too bad for our first time, and we definitely will be back next year.
Thank you SO much to all our friends and family who donated and who participated in the event. We love you all so much!! ♥ We plan to raise even more next year.
