We spent Thursday to Monday morning in the Austin area. Our Rv site was right down the road from Lake Travis, called La Hacienda RV Resort. It was really nice with spaced out sites, nice amenities like a pool, game room, laundry rooms, gym, even a putting green. I under estimated how beautiful the Austin area was. It was very hilly ( is that a word?) so beautiful landscape as we drove around. It made for some nerve wracking moments pulling the camper up windy hills, but for sure only the beginning of that as we head more west. I have been to Houston and Dallas plenty of times, but never to Austin. We really loved it.
Thursday we got to our site, set up, made dinner and went for a walk.
We noticed that another red cardinal was hanging out right by our site. We have spotted them at almost every stop so far! ♥️

Friday I worked all day as Dean did some "chores" around the camper. Then, we headed to a local dive bar for happy hour, where I beat Dean at shuffleboard!!! Those that know my husband well know, it is nearly impossible to beat him at any sport, but especially bar games! I came back from 0-15, Thank you very much! That needed to be documented. lol We then headed to dinner at a delicious mexican restaurant ( my fav) Then, we went over to The Oasis. This is a big complex that overlooks Lake Travis. The views are insane. We sat along the balcony at the brewery and enjoyed the views.
Saturday we drove into downtown Austin to check it out. We stopped along the way at this trail on top of a cliff overlooking Lake Austin. It was stunning. Then, we hit a couple bars, walked around to see the Capital building, Congress bridge, and then went to eat an early dinner at a BBQ place on the water. We saw SO many turtles.
Sunday we went to Pace Bend Park along the lake to hike and explore, then had lunch at a super cute cafe at the marina. Then, we headed back to camper to relax and get ready for a couple road days ahead. Austin was definitely a hit and an area we would visit again. Jeffrey is adapting well with all the travel. He takes nice naps while on the road and he loves hanging outside at the different sites. He has also found his new favorite spot on the couch.
On to the next 2 Texas stops, then New Mexico Wednesday! ♡
